The two-day food exhibition and conference – Food Forum India 2009 (FFI ’09) which commenced at The Renaissance in Mumbai reinforced the growth trajectory in the food and beverage retail segment even during these recessionary times. The captains of the food businesses are participating at the magnum opus of the Indian food industry to discuss the theme of the forum ‘Recipes For Success’ and partake live learning from the pioneers and leaders of the industry.
FFI started on a very positive note where the industry leaders and opinion makers like Ireena Vittal, principal, McKinsey & Co, Amit Burman, vice chairman, Dabur India, Praveen Someshwar, head – bottling operations, PepsiCo and Vinod Sawhny, president & COO, Bharati Retail India posed great faith in the growth story of food businesses in India.
Jayant Kochar, MD, Go Fish Retail Solutions and Anish Trivedi, CMD, Banyan Tree Communications, delivered the welcome address. The Food Forum India has created excitement as it would provide exposure to processors, investors and others in the food business about the latest technologies, government schemes, business opportunities available and the scope for investment.
Supported by MOFPI, Govt of India, and leading global trade bodies and academia including GlobalGAP, NRAI, Michigan State University, EHI, VICS among others, FFI saw world food visionaries, brands and retailers, restaurants and catering and the entire food processing and support fraternity converging on the first day itself.
FFI houses food vision conclave, leadership sessions, exhibits of futuristic concepts in food businesses (farm to plate) and provides opportunities for branding and retailing as also a peep into the best of food retail spaces across India.
It is a significant event that will reflect the peculiarities of modern and tendencies of future development of food and drinks both in the national as well as the international market, food industry experts feel.
