Max Hypermarkets India Ltd, part of the Dubai-based retail giant Landmark Group, is all set to open another Spar Hypermarket in Bengaluru. Located at Mantri Mall in Malleshwaram, the new Spar Hypermarket store would spread across 70,000 square feet of area. This would be the third Spar store in Bengaluru and the fourth in India.
Speaking exclusively with IndiaRetailing on the opening and expansion of Spar Hypermarket, Viney Singh, MD, Max Hypermarkets India Ltd, said, “Malleshwaram is amongst the best residential catchments in Bengaluru. With this store we will be able to make our presence in the western quadrant of the city where we currently do not have a store. According to our expansion plan, as of now, we want to have presence in all the main catchments of the city.”
Mantri Mall, where the store will be located, is planned to be the largest and best designed mall in the city of Bengaluru, commented Singh.
“The format of the store will be a Spar flagship hypermarket and will be designed to heighten the focus on the experience that Spar has shared with its customers so far with its wide range and freshness of the products coupled with value and service of global standards,” he added.
Being the flagship format, the new Spar Hypermarket will be having an extensive range of fresh produce and dry foods, ready-to-eat foods, health and beauty products, general merchandise, textiles, apparel and electronics both national as well as international brands.
Spar is already present in Bengaluru with two hypermarkets operating in Banerghatta Road and Oasis Centre in Koramangla. Besides Bengaluru, Spar is also present in Hyderabad in a supermarket format.
