Toni & Guy co-founder Guy Mascolo passed away on May 6 after suffering a heart attack at his home in Dallas. He was 65.
An iconic figure in the hair industry, Guy Mascolo was chairman of the US company which has 56 salons and 11 cosmetology schools.
Mascolo founded the hairdressing company with his brother, Toni Mascolo in South London in 1963 when both were teens. Toni retains ownership of the company’s global operations in Europe. But eight years ago, Guy and two younger brothers took ownership of Toni & Guy, USA and Tigi, the haircare products division based in Texas.
Guy was born Gaetano Mascolo in Southern Italy and moved with his family to the United Kingdom in the mid 1950s.
