Spencer’s Retail Limited, one of India’s multi-format retailers, launched its first largest store of the state of Tamil Nadu in Tiruchirapalli. Spread over 12000 square feet, it is Spencer’s first large format store in Tiruchirapalli and 60th in Tamil Nadu. The store was inaugurated by Samar Singh Sheikhawat, vice president, Marketing and Atanu Batybal, vice president, Southern Operations of Spencer’s Retail Limited. The store boasts of the widest range and assortment of the best quality merchandize at competitive prices across food, fashion, home and electrical categories.
Speaking at the launch, Samar Singh Sheikhawat said, “We are delighted to be in Tiruchirapalli. The city’s multi-cultural blend, the upmarket population owing to its major engineering and industrial concentration makes it an ideal catchment for a Spencer’s store. The new 12000 square feet store stocks merchandize in food and grocery, fresh fruits and vegetables, electrical, home and office essentials, basic wear and fashion accessories, toys and personal care. Imported food products and a broad choice in regional preferences are also available at the store. A specialty section on regional and international cuisines and organic foods counter, an extensive fish and meat counter, and variety of food take-away options promise to gratify every variant of the consumers’ shopping requirements. The store also has a refreshment and snacking zone providing a wide range of ready foods like fried & grilled chicken, chat varieties, ice creams, range of chocolates, pizzas, burgers and fresh bakery.
“Organized retail is gaining steam in India and upcoming cities like Tiruchirapalli would be center points of such growth. We see a huge potential in terms of favorable consumer segment that is keen on modern retail set-ups for their shopping, not only in the city but across the state of Tamil Nadu,” added Sheikhawat.
