Ity Aggarwal creates some innovative looks for Salon India as we continue our series on Emotion in Hair. This summer watch out for hair that brings in warmth and summer, joy and bliss in various form.
Ity uses the word edgy a lot. It defines both her work and where she sees her focus as a hair artist. A hairstylist with nine years industry experience, Ity finished her graduation in commerce, did a course in hairstyling, then joined Adhuna Akhtar at b:blunt as a trainee stylist. She left the salon chain in December 2007 to explore other avenues. Her own salon, Psalm23, is a 2,000 square foot high-end space in Kemps corner. The salon, which opened in September 2008, is a partnership in which she steers it in new directions and makes headway into the fields of creativity for hair. She has created trends and looks for the season for several beauty brands and worked with Bollywood celebrities such as Sameera Reddy, Sushma Reddy, Bipasha Basu (hair extensions for No Entry), Anil Kapoor, John Abraham and many more. She was also a part of the first L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy.
