Metro Cash & Carry, the sales division of the € 33.1 billion Metro Group, has partnered with the Indian Federation of Culinary Association to host the fourth National Culinary Congress in Hyderabad during November 14-16. Coinciding with the Congress, Metro plans to roll out Chef-o-logy services for the hospitality sector.

The National Culinary Congress will provide delegates opportunities to advance their professional development and enhance their culinary skills through hands-on workshops and seminars, while having access to latest cooking trends and techniques. The event will have food and service exhibitors showcasing their latest offerings.

During the event, Metro will launch its initiative for hospitality customers called Chef-o-logy, a customised service platform catering to the needs of the Chef. A special team trained by hospitality experts will serve them, according to Alec Booth, operations director, Metro Cash & Carry India.

“These services are aimed at addressing the rapid changes in the culinary preferences in various Indian cities. Through Chef-o-logy we will offer solutions designed to suit varied business needs of the hospitality industry,” Booth said.

Addressing a press conference here today, the General Secretary of Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA), P Sounderarajan, said the event services as a platform where experts will come together and share some of the best practices. In fact, the event offers an opportunity to expand the knowledge base of various cuisines.

“Contrary to general perception, by sharing we will be able to protect the various traditional cooking forms,” he said.

Booth said Metro’s Chef-o-logy is a single-window solution for chefs, purchase managers and senior management which offer a range of customised services and high quality products. This also ensures constant product availability allowing chefs to plan menus in advance without any unforeseen surprises.
