The gourmet food and grocery retail chain, Ruci & Idoni, which currently runs two stores in Hyderabad, is set to expand its footprint. Talking exclusively to IndiaRetailing on the same K.Vishnu Vardhan, head operations, Ruci & Idoni says, “In the next six months, we will open the stores in cities such as Bangalore, Mumbai and Chennai. We are planning to open over 20 stores in the cities including Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Pune and Kolkata, two years down the line.”
“We go through market reports and consultants and data before deciding on the location strategy. Since these are a very premium stores, our customer catchment place a vital role,” he informs.
Currently, its two operational stores are located at GVK One mall and Banjara Hills Road. The stores occupy retail area of 8,500 square feet and 13,000 square feet respectively and offer a wide range of exotic fruits and vegetables, herbs and spices, oils and vinegars, groceries, cheeses, meats and seafood, kitchen ware, personal care, baby care and home care products etc. The operational stores also house a book store, an in-house bakery and an American style deli.
“We are proud to be the first luxury one-stop food and grocery chain in the country. We encourage our customers to focus on eco-friendly choices such as our organic food, jute bags, natural essential oil soaps and spa products. We also sell reusable jute bags for our green customer to carry them along every time they walk into our store,” informs Vardhan.
