Max, the value fashion brand from Dubai-based Landmark group, has set its footprints in East India with its first store in Kolkata at City Centre, New Town. Spread over 8,000 sq.ft, the store brings in latest fashion at an affordable price for the discerning customers of Kolkata.
Seeing the growing potential of eastern markets, the brand has projected Rs.22 to Rs.35 average sale per sq.ft. The company also plans to open 5-6 stores in East India in the near future.
Currently, the brand owns almost 26 exclusive stores covering retail space of 2.2 lakh sq.ft across cities such as Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi, Agra, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Calicut, Nanded and Mumbai. "Max is the largest value retailer in the country. We have pioneered the value fashion retail in this country and we intend to expand our presence even in tier II and III cities," informs Vasanth Kumar, executive director, Max.
The company plans to open 60 stores by FY 2011-2012. In 2009-10 financial year, the brand registered a turnover of Rs.185 crores.
