Titan plans to scale up Zoop’s retail presence

Must Read

Titan, an established name in the Indian watch industry, plans to get a better foothold in the children’s segment by making Zoop — kidswear watches — available across 1,200 to 1,500 retail stores across 140 cities by September this year.

Shyamala Ramanan, senior marketing manager, Titan Watches, says, “Zoop watches are already available across 1,000 retail stores. Currently, we are looking at a marketing investment of Rs.1.5-2 crore for this quarter to scale up the brand’s retail presence further.”

Zoop was launched in October 2008 as a six to eight month pilot across six cities — Bengaluru, Chennai, Surat, Pune, Jaipur, and Kolkata.

“There are mostly traditional players in the kids’ timewear segment and the demand for quality watches for kids has been growing significantly,” Ramanan adds.
The product range of Zoop will offer around 75 styles for boys and girls with the tagline — ‘Be a star’ — and the price range will vary between Rs 350 and Rs 900. The material used in manufacturing these watches is children-friendly.

“Designs of Zoop watches are developed in-house while the manufacturing is outsourced,” Ramanan concludes.
