Beauty inspired by fashion at the Lakmé Fashion Week from March 5 to 8 was in one word — Cool! The event, held at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai had a brand new angle introduced for the first time — Resort Wear.
This meant summer looks, which are an undeniable priority all over the country with extended summers in many cities. Beauty at Lakmé Fashion Week was created by two maestros from the make-up industry — Clint Fernandes and Cory Walia with Ambika Pillai creating the look for one show (Vikram Phadnis) and the Creative team from Tigi, UK showing off modern, unusual styling for UK designer Christoper Kane.
Fashion designers make it a priority to extend their creative concepts by working with make-up and hair artists.
This completes their visual-izaitons of the finished look. Lakmé Fashion Week brought out the creative looks for summer with well known designers such as Rocky S, Anita Dongre, Satya Paul, Swapnil Shinde, Malini Ramini, etc. This Mumbai-based Fashion Week also brought youth and dynamic contemporary styles as GenNext had a big showing — young designers who fashioned their styles for the ramp with sheer verve and enthusiasm. Particularly dramatic were the designs from Narendra Kumar and Suneet Verma.
