HyperCity Retail (India) Ltd, one of the leading retailers in India, has appointed Mark Ashman as CEO. He has replaced Andrew Levermore.
BS Nagesh, vice chairman of HyperCity Retail (India) Ltd, said, “Mark Ashman’s vast retail experience and understanding of the Indian consumer will enable us to remain a leading hypermarket company in India.”
The vice chairman further said Mark was joining at an exciting time as “we are expanding into different parts of the country to keep pace with the needs of today’s consumer”.
On his appointment as CEO of HyperCity Retail, Ashman said, “It gives me immense pleasure to be able to continue to work in the exciting Indian retail sector, especially with the great team at HyperCity.”
Educated in the UK, Ashman has a vast retail experience ranging from retail operations, sales and marketing, merchandising and corporate communications. He has held senior retail leadership roles internationally.
Most recently, he was CEO of Marks & Spencer Reliance India Pvt Ltd. He was instrumental in the roll-out of Marks & Spencer’s retail strategy in India and establishing the JV between Marks & Spencer and Reliance Retail.
