Hidesign recently launched its 50th exclusive brand outlet (EBO) in India, at Express Avenue Mall, Chennai. The 850 sq.ft store, located on the ground floor of the mall, carries a good mix of classic handbags and men’s bags, in addition to the complete Spring Summer 2010 Collection of Hidesign.
With the opening of this store, Hidesign now has 10 exclusive stores in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The brand is also present in major multi-brand outlets such as Lifestyle, Landmark, Shoppers Stop and Westside throughout the region.
Hidesign is also eyeing to make it big in airport retailing. A few months ago, it launched an exclusive store at Cochin International Airport, the store is spread over an area of 450 sq.ft. By the end of this year, the company plans to open an exclusive store at Bangalore International Airport.
Stressing that airport retailing is important for the company, Dilip Kapur, president, Hidesign, said, “It helps build a global brand, as you get customers from all over the world. In India, our airport stores have performed very strongly.”
With a global presence, the group has become the first Indian brand to be retailed at premium international outlets such as John Lewis, Selfridges and House of Fraser in the UK, Myers and David Jones in Australia, Stuttafords in South Africa, Parksons in Vietnam and Robinsons in South East Asia.
