Pantene devotes its time to CSR

Must Read

Procter & Gamble-owned haircare brand, Pantene, has launched its ‘Healthy Hair for Healthy Water’ campaign that supports the parent company’s ‘Children’s Safe Drinking Water’ (CSDW) initiative. The charitable drive will see Pantene giving away PUR (purifier of water) packets worth $5million to women in developing countries. One PUR packet changes 10 liters of dirty, harmful water into clean, drinkable water. For every Pantene shampoo purchased from the P&G e-store from February 28, 2011 onwards, Pantene will donate 10 cents to CSDW. “Mothers lose 1.8 million children every year from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, which is more more than HIV/AIDS and malaria combined,” says Dr. Greg Allgood, who oversees P&G’s CSDW initiative. He further says,”Pantene’s commitment to improve the health of women and their children through its ‘Healthy Hair for Healthy Water’ program is a means to help address this global health issue.”
