The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week S/S 2011 commenced on October 23 with razzle-dazzle at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This season, Mickey Contractor, MAC’s Director of Artistry and Vimy Joshi, Senior Artist Middle East and India, MAC Cosmetics, Kapil Bhalla and Ambika Pillai, did the hair and make-up. Spotted on the runway were leading ladies of the fashion industry – Laxmi Rana, Candice Pinto, Diandra Soares, Pia Trivedi, Carol Gracious, Sonalika Sahay and others. “The Spring/Summer make-up is very pretty and fresh. The face is very subtle and clean with lots of mascara and fake lashes,” says Kapil Bhalla. Talking about Gaurav & Ritika and Pallavi Mohan shows, he further comments, “Make-up is really simple with luminescent skin and fresh blush. The lips are wet rosy with well-defined eye brows and thin eye liners, but the hair is dramatic.” Mickey Contractor, who created the make-up looks for JJ Valaya’s show, says, “JJ Valaya’s collection is always about royalty so considering that fact we have used blues and grays on the eyes and have muted down the lips.”
