Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, which operates fast food chain Domino’s Pizza in India, has reported a net profit of Rs.18.43 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2010, up 139 per cent from Rs.7.77 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
The company’s net sales for the quarter under review stood at Rs.163.3 crore, up 67 per cent from Rs.97.75 crore posted in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
"Our growth in this quarter is due to addition of new stores, good same-store sales and expansion of our product portfolio during the period,” said Ajay Kaul, CEO, Jubilant FoodWorks Limited (JFL).
The company said, during the quarter it opened 18 outlets across the country and registered a same-store revenue growth of 43.8 per cent. JFL currently has presence in 79 cities.
Going forward, the company plans to take the total number of Domino’s Pizza outlets to 375 by the end of this fiscal. It currently has 339 outlets across the country.
"Every time we open a new store, we need around 25-30 people. We open around 70 stores a year. So, every year we recruit around 2,000-2,500 people. We will maintain that number this year as well," Kaul added.
