Every year the judges select 150 designer outfits, which are created by fashion designers from all over the world. Among these, one winner is selected who receives the prize money of over $100,000.
Recently, at the Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2010, 6 award-winning World of Wearable Art creations were showcased on Day 3. This was complemented by an enthralling photo exhibit by ace lensman, Rohit Chawla, featuring 15 other garments against stunning scenic settings in WOW’s birthplace, Nelson in New Zealand.
WOW is a unique `art meets fashion` concept which explores the human body as a living canvas to depict art. For the first time in India, such six international designs of wildly imaginative, artistic quality were showcased as a visual spectacle.
