In recent years, online retailers have become an increasingly popular destination for holiday shoppers. And the coming holiday season holds even better news for them.
Forrester Research, a technology and market research company that provides pragmatic advice to global leaders in business and technology, has predicted that online retail sales in the US will grow 16 per cent this holiday shopping season compared to last year. This, though, is a frightening news for traditional retail stores such as Walmart and Target as the National Retail Federation believes overall retail shopping is likely to increase a mere 2.4 per cent this year.
By shopping online, consumers can avoid long queues and panic that have become fixtures at traditional retailers this time of year. eBay, Amazon and other online retailers offer extremely discounted deals on shipping which is taking consumers away from the stores and on to the Web.
