Marks & Spencer, one of the UK’s leading apparel retailers, has expanded its presence in India by opening its 20th store in the country. The new store at DLF Promenade Mall, Vasant Kunj, is the fourth Marks & Spencer outlet in Delhi.
Spread over an area of 14,000 sq.ft, the store offers an international shopping experience with an extensive range across various categories – women’s wear, including beauty products, accessories and lingerie, menswear, children’s clothing, as well as a selection of home ware.
Speaking on the launch of the new store, Martin Jones, CEO, Marks & Spencer Reliance India Pvt Ltd, which runs M&S outlets in India, said, “We are delighted to launch our fourth store in Delhi. We have always brought the latest trends to our customers and believed in creating fashions for everyone to enjoy.”
A few days ago, the retailer had opened an outlet at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.
Commenting on the opening of the store at Terminal 3, Jones said, “We’re very proud to have opened our first store in an Indian airport terminal. India is an important market for Marks & Spencer; it’s a fast growing economy that offers us an exciting long-term opportunity. Our new store means we are able to offer our great quality, great value products to even more customers, whether they are travelling for business or pleasure. We’re also continuing to increase our sourcing from local Indian suppliers.”
Marks & Spencer Reliance India Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Marks & Spencer and Reliance Retail, was formed in April 2008. It currently runs 20 stores across the country.
