Cleopatra Group and Design International have been awarded five stars in the commercial category respectively for Best Retail Development and Best Retail Architecture, which are considered among the most prestigious recognition in the real estate industry worldwide.
Scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2012, Cleopatra Mall has been considered by the award’s jury as a new architectural landmark in Egypt. It will eventually become the preferred shopping, leisure and entertainment destination in Giza, West Cairo — right in the heart of 6thOctober City, and the first mall to be open 24 hours. The project, which is likely to become the largest mall in North Africa, has a total built area of over 350,000 sqm with more then 300 stores, features an iconic canopy covering the central area — described by architect Davide Padoa as a ‘wave in the desert’, and boasts a stunning outdoor entertainment area with a breathtaking 5,000 sqm lake with water shows and the largest retail multimedia display in Egypt.
Design International, through DI Leasing, has already secured a number of high profile tenants in Cleopatra Mall’s innovative indoor and outdoor tenant mix, which has given a large emphasis on leisure, entertainment, fine dining, gourmet markets, fashion and, most surprisingly, Egypt’s first dedicated luxury mall inside a shopping centre, with its own dedicated valet parking, VIP lounge, spa and press office.
