Restaurant chain Moti Mahal Delux Tandoori Trail is planning to expand its presence across the country by taking the franchise route. The company, though, is opting for a model where the investment is made entirely by the franchisee.
Speaking exclusively to IndiaRetailing, Monish Gujral, MD, Moti Mahal Delux Tandoori Trail, said, “The company wants to help its franchisees set up outlets with the least expenditure, and provide extensive menus and multiple revenue sources while maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and quality.” Moti Mahal Delux Tandoori Trail currently has two formats – food courts and standalone restaurants.
According to Gujral, a food court costs around Rs.20 lakh to the franchisee, while the standalone restaurant costs close to Rs.2,500 per sq.ft depending on the restaurant size .
He also informed that the target group of customers ranges from middle class to upper class, while the average bill size is Rs.250 per person.
Moti Mahal Tandoori Trail has a strong presence in North India and is now concentrating on the southern market. The key cities it is targeting are Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, among others.
