In a bid to make shopping a pleasant and convenient experience for consumers, online shopping portal eBay has introduced m-commerce in India. The service will allow Indian online shoppers an opportunity to access eBay anytime, anywhere.
Speaking on the launch, Muralikrishnan B, director – marketing & product, eBay India, said, “The future of e-commerce is mobile. We believe this will redefine the way consumers find, shop and pay. As pioneers of e-commerce in India, we are well poised to introduce online shoppers to the next wave of m-commerce with the launch of m.ebay.in.”
eBay India Mobile Web (m.ebay.in) is designed for GPRS, EDGE, 3G-enabled feature phones and provides an end-to-end transaction platform to consumers to find, buy and pay for products online.
“As feature phones are better penetrated in India currently than smart phones, we have designed eBay India Mobile for GPRS-enabled devices. Our SMS price check application allows us to address the entire universe of mobile users by providing price checks on the go,” he added.
eBay India Mobile offers consumers a large store in their pocket. It supports fast, easy, secure payments by credit card or debit card.
eBay India has also introduced an SMS solution – accessible on all mobile handsets – to check the best deals.
