Adidas Group has appointed Subhinder Singh Prem as managing director of its India operations with effect from May 1, 2011.
“We are confident that under Subhinder’s leadership, Adidas Group in India will come together as one team and ensure we maintain our position at the pinnacle of the sports business in the Indian sub-continent,” a statement issued by the company said.
Prem joined Reebok in 1995 and before becoming its managing director in 2003, he had held various positions within the company, including executive director of sales & marketing for Reebok India.
Meanwhile, Adidas has also announced that Andreas Gellner, the current managing director of Adidas India, will take over as managing director of its South East Europe operations. In his new role, Andreas will be responsible for the company’s business in Greece, Cyprus and the Balkans.
Andreas has been at the helm of Adidas India for six-and-a-half years and has been instrumental in bringing the brand and the organisation to the position of strength in the market that it enjoys today, the company statement added.
