US-based personal care company Kiehl’s plans to kick off its latest philanthropy effort with a star-studded cocktail party at its Third Avenue flagship in New York tonight. The event will introduce Kiehl’s Gives, an ongoing global philanthropic initiative, and the brand’s new global ambassadors, Julianne Moore, Pharrell Williams and the Scissor Sisters. The event also marks its 160th birthday celebration.
“Each of the ambassadors will represent a different area of concern: Julianne Moore – children’s well-being; Pharrell Williams – the environment, and the Scissor Sisters – HIV/AIDS. Each pillar will represent eight charitable organisations, with each being brought to life through a short film series viewable at kiehlsgives.com. The site will go live on June 15, and the public will be invited to vote on their favourite initiatives through August 31. In September, in honour of its birthday, Kiehl’s will distribute $160,000 to the charities. Each charity will get at least $20,000,” said Chris Salgardo, President of Kiehl’s USA.
