ABRL opens second hypermarket in Bengaluru

Aditya Birla Retail Limited, ABRL, has opened its second hypermarket (more.MEGASTORE) in Bengaluru at Gopalan Mall, Old Madras Road. Spread over 60,000 sq.ft., the outlet stocks more than 25,000 products across categories by local, regional, national, and international brands. This is the company’s 12th hypermarket in the country.

The new more.MEGASTORE has different sections such as fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh live bakery, fresh meat, personal care products, youth fashion, luggage, crockery, kid’s toys, sports, local foods, frozen non-veg and veg, consumer durables and IT, apparel, and footwear.

The hypermarket also offers its own brands in select categories offering a minimum 10 percent saving over like-to-like brands. It has 24 cash counters to facilitate quick billing and parking space for over 100 cars. Kannada-, Hindi-, and English-speaking staff will be available at the store.

Commenting on the occasion, Thomas Varghese, CEO, Aditya Birla Retail, said: “With this hypermarket, it is our goal to provide a new shopping experience, offering quality products at affordable prices. We have tailor made the store’s atmosphere for the people of Bengaluru, keeping their needs and expectations in mind.”

Vargehese further added: “Our hypermarket more.MEGASTORE will offer a wide range of products by national and international brands. With organized retail, the socio-economic culture of our country can be transformed and it will bring enormous spin-off benefits to the Indian economy and its various constituents.”

In Karnataka, ABRL has 118 supermarkets and 2 existing hypermarkets in Mysore and Mahadevpura at Bengaluru.

With multiple megastores in Mysore, Vadodara, Aurangabad, Indore, Bengaluru, Nasik, and Hyderabad; two stores in Mumbai at Vashi and Thane; and two in Delhi at Rohini and Kirti Nagar, the megastore market of ABRL is growing steadily.

ABRL’s 580 neighborhood supermarkets cater to the daily and weekly shopping needs, whereas its destination hypermarkets take care of monthly and event-based shopping requirements of the customers.
