Cinema chain, Cinépolis has opened a six-screen digital multiplex at Surat. The multiplex with 1,201 seats will feature 2k digital screens, 7.1 dolby digital audio as well as 3-D screens by Real-D. With the new multiplex, Gujarat has become the only state with two Cinépolis multiplexes.
Speaking on the occasion, Milan Saini, Managing Director and Country Head, Cinépolis India, said: “We are pleased to launch Surat’s first international multiplex. Film enthusiasts in the city will notice a difference in terms of the clarity of our digital screens and the latest 3D technology we employ. We look forward to serving the community with the best cinema experience in town”.
Cinépolis Surat will showcase over 36 shows in a single day. It will also house an in-house coffee shop called “Coffee Tree” offering gourmet food and beverages.
Ashish Shukla, Head – Exhibition, Cinépolis India said that the company is introducing RealD 3D for the first time in Surat. A 100 percent vegetarian menu has been created based on local requirement.
Cinépolis currently operates in Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, and Patna. It added 28 screens in 2011 and plans to roll out 500 screens by 2016. With the addition of Cinépolis Surat, the cinema chain now has a total of 32 screens across all four geographic zones.
