Travel-based store Basecamp has opened its first store in Bangalore at Brigade Orion Mall. The new outlet stocks travel-related products from a nail cutter to a variety of tents and sleeping bags. This is the brand’s 13th store in the country.
The brands hosted by Basecamp include Victorinox (Switzerland)-swiss army knives, travel gear, kitchen knives and timepieces, GoTravel (UK), Outsider-backpacks, sleeping bags, tents and walking stick, Trim (UK)-nail and hair accessories, Maglite (US)- flashlights and LEDs, Optimus(Sweden)-stoves and burners, Katadyn-(Switzerland)- water purifiers, Laken (Singapore)- water bottles, and Muela (Spain)—hunting knives.
Speaking on the occasion, Sameer Sikka, Head Retail Division, Basecamp, said: “At Basecamp, we target customers in the age group between 18 and 40 years in the mid-premium to premium category. This includes the college going crowd, working singles, newly married couples, and young parents. We have divided travel consumers into three different categories: adventure, business, and leisure traveler and Basecamp has travel products to cater and suffice the needs of all genres of traveller.”
Basecamp houses international travel and accessories brands and has over 600 options for the travellers. Its online store offers products such as overnight office bags, laptop bags, trolley bags, camping gear, backpacks, flashlights, camp stoves, and portable water filters.
