Luxury fashion house Kimaya brings Italian menswear label Via Montenapo to Bangalore

Must Read

Luxury fashion house Kimaya has launched Via Montenapo, the Italian menswear label, at UB City Mall, Bangalore in association with Canclini Tessile S.p.A, an Italian textile manufacturer. Via Montenapo offers custom-made shirts in Egyptian cotton by Milan-based designer Francesco Rossi. Three collections of the label available in Kimaya would include classic, sporty, and luxury.

Speaking on the occasion, Pradeep Hirani, Owner, Kimaya Fashions, said: “Bangalore is a city buzzing with life and cosmopolitan crowd and UB City is one of the most luxurious properties in the country. Together, it is a win-win situation for the Kimaya store in Bangalore. The men here are extremely fashion conscious and have the taste to spend on the finer things in life. Most of them accompany the women patrons at Kimaya and we have always been flooded with requests to cater to the fashion needs of the men too. Via Montenapo is a step in this direction. The philosophy of Cancilini and the brand mix of Kimaya are a perfect fit.”

The association marks the entry of Via Montenapo into the Indian luxury retail market. The menswear label has plans to expand to 25 stores in the next 3 to 5 years. Via Montenapo’s average prices start at Rs 4,000 for a basic shirt and go up to Rs 15,000 for a 300’s bespoke shirt.

Kimaya Fashions was founded in 2002 by Pradeep and Neha Hirani and showcases collections of over 200 designers including Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani, Anamika Khanna, Manish Arora, Shantanu & Nikhil, Ranna Gill, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Malini Ramani, Gauri & Nainika, Rocky S, Falguni & Shane Peacock, Rina Dhaka, and Gaurav Gupta. Kimaya has also housed international brands such as Trussadi, Pinko, Max Mara, Red Valentino, Kalliste, Versus, Etro, and Michel Perry in the past.

Recently, Kimaya received a private equity funding from Washington-based Franklin Templeton and is in the process of launching ethnic designerwear prêt label Karmik in India in the next few months.
