Bharti Walmart, the cash-and-carry joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Walmart Stores, has opened its first Best Price Modern Wholesale cash-and-carry store in Hyderabad at Rajendranagar. This is the 3rd Best Price Modern Wholesale outlet in Andhra Pradesh and 18th in India.
Spread over 53,000 sq.ft., the store stocks over 5,000 items including a range of fresh, frozen, and chilled foods; fruits and vegetables; dry groceries; personal and home care items; hotel and restaurant supplies; apparel; office supplies; electronic goods; and general merchandise.
Speaking on the occasion, Raj Jain, President, Walmart India and Managing Director and CEO, Bharti Walmart, said: “We are delighted to launch our first Best Price Modern Wholesale store in Hyderabad, a thriving industrial centre in Andhra Pradesh. With this store, we have further strengthened our foothold in Southern India. The Best Price Modern Wholesale store will help people save money and live better by providing its members the benefit of low prices, convenience, wide assortment, good quality and hygienic products, all under one roof.”
Bharti Walmart claims that several products in the store have been locally sourced from Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
Currently, there are 17 Best Price Modern Wholesale stores located at Amritsar, Zirakpur, Jalandhar, Kota, Bhopal, Ludhiana, Raipur, Indore, Vijayawada, Meerut, Agra, Lucknow, Jammu, Guntur, Aurangabad, Bhatinda, and Amravati. A typical cash-and-carry store stands between 50,000 and 100,000 sq.ft.
