Tata Global Beverages has appointed Ajoy Misra, presently the Deputy CEO and Executive Director of Tata Global Beverages Limited (TGBL), as the CEO and Managing Director of TGBL effective April 01, 2014. Misra will succeed Harish Bhat, who will step down on March 31, 2014 to move into a senior advisory position in the Tata Group.
The appointment of Misra as the Managing Director will be subject to all statutory approvals as required and the approval of the members of the Company.
Misra will, with immediate effect, function as “Managing Director Designate”, until he formally takes over as the MD. The company’s Board of Directors has also announced that Bhat will be appointed as a non-Executive Director on the Board of TGBL with effect from April 01, 2014.
A Civil Engineering graduate from BITS Pilani, Misra holds an MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University. He has over 30 years of rich experience in the Tata group. Prior to joining TGBL, he was associated with leadership roles in the Taj Group of Hotels, including the Head of Global Marketing & Sales, Area Director and General Manager of various regions and properties of the Group. Misra has also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
