Chef Manish Mehrotra graduated from The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai in 1996 and then joined the Thai Pavilion at the erstwhile Taj President Hotel in Mumbai where he worked for five years. During his tenure at Taj, he had the opportunity to train under several Thai Master Chefs.
Mehrotra organised several food festivals across the Taj Group and also won competitions organised by Culinary Associations.
In 2001, he moved to Old World Hospitality based in New Delhi where he headed the Pan Asian kitchens at Oriental Octopus, Habitat World, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
He then moved to London with OWH in 2006 to set up Tamarai which won the “Best Pan Asian in London” from the E.S. magazine and “The Best Wine List” amongst many more.
Mehrotra then created an innovative menu at Indian Accent, the fine dining restaurant at The Manor (New Delhi), which opened in March 2009.
The Chef has received several honours including Best Chef in India by American Express; Chef of the Year, Vir Sanghvi Award, 2010 & 2012; winner of NDTV Good Times’ Foodistan; and Gourmet Guru of India 2011, Food & Night Life Magazine.
