Bollywood’s top couturier Manish Malhotra has inaugurated Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2014 with a fashionable romantic collection, Summer Affair. The collection was all about intricate chantilly lace, translucent georgette, sheer organza, sensuous cotton tulle with a creative addition of white thread embroidery and shimmer.The designer used his favourite navy blue and grey with shades of pink – blush to pale pink. Neutral beige, white and black were also added to complete the colour spectrum.
He unvieled women’s wear collection with boleros, kurtas, summery skirts and slim pants. Adding visible zips to the pre-stitched sari and choli, Manish turned the six yard wonder into statement pieces. For men, prints were in a profusion of colours, along with tonal embroidery and layers for different jackets. Printed sherwani were totally replaced by the tonal bundies and bundgalas to complete the look.
The Bollywood designer had Sonaakshi Sinha as showstopper dressed in a long floor kissing sheer black kurta with white embroidery to set the mood of the delicate ethereal collection.
