The London luxury label has created exclusive new versions of a classic design by the German sportswear brand. Alexander Mcqueen and Puma are celebrating the beautiful game with two stunning new reworkings of the legendary Puma King boot. First appearing in 1968, the King is a veritable football classic, worn by some of the game’s greatest ever players including Pele, Johan Cruyff, Lothar Matthaus and Diego Maradona. Handcrafted in Italy and limited to 100 pairs around the world, sadly the new boots are not for sale (they’re being given as gifts to Puma’s closest friends to celebrate this year’s FIFA World Cup). The two designs include a rarer (there are just 30 pairs) gold Fish Skin model, and a second design which reimagines the Puma King in a supple Italian leather in chestnut brown.
