International Spa Therapy and Ayurveda Academy (ISTHAA) is a group of wellness schools started with the aim of creating a new standard of excellence in wellness education with the state-of-the-art facilities. Started in 2009 by four friends after realising a huge dearth for efficient wellness professionals in the country, it is affliated with the Indian Spa Academy and Bharat Sevak Samaj, a national development agency promoted by Government of India. It has centres located in Bangalore, Kozhikode and Delhi and there are plans of opening two more in Goa and Mumbai. Spread over 2,400 sq ft, the academy has a separate yoga training space along with high-end lab facilities, a library and conference hall. The academy has well-qualified trainers who are chosen for their expertise, passion for teaching and dedication to the healing art and has names like Dr Prasanna Kukunje, the spa management trainer, Dr Nithya Sreejith, Ayurveda Doctor, MD, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Sreejeesh Sreedharan, spa trainer, Gautam R Rao, yoga trainer, and Okhram Romeo, spa trainer, among others. Students are provided food and accommodation free of cost.
Courses
The main courses offered in the academy are: Diploma in Spa therapy, Diploma in Spa Management, Diploma in Ayurveda Massage and Panchakarma. There is a course for Aspiring Entrepreneurs where training is given to those interested in setting up their own wellness institute.Short duration spa-Ayurveda courses for housewives are also available whereas professionals in the field of IT, ITES, engineering and management can take up short-duration couple or individual special package training programmes. Students who have passed out from Isthaa are employed in reputed institutes in India and abroad.
Eligibility
One needs to clear 10th standard to be able to pursue these courses.
Fees
The courses start from Rs10,000 and go up to Rs40,000.
