Haiko Supermarket celebrated its 15th anniversary from 12th to 15th June. Haiko anniversary is a much anticipated event for Powai residents, primarily for the offers by the retailer, and their year long benefits. These include gift vouchers based on purchase slabs, which can be redeemed at the store against purchases. This year, the highest slab was Rs 6,000 on a purchase of Rs 15,000, which amounted to 40 percent benefit to the customer.
At the ‘Highest Shopper of Each Day’ customers won two 6.5 kg Top Loading Washing Machines, 32” LED TV, and 253 ltr fridge as prizes, with the highest shopper billing of Rs1,50,428. Live DJ, games, gift hampers, food workshop in association with Good Food, discounts, complimentary meal vouchers, etc, marked the event. At a live master class, Chef Amit from Italian restaurant Sphagetti Kitchen in Powai demonstrated how a routine lunch can be made more delicious and interesting.
Most Haiko patrons take time off from their busy schedule to visit the store and shop. Owing to the huge response to the anniversary campaign in the last two years, this year, the Haiko Anniversary offers were extended by one more day. Several renowned brands that directly associate with Haiko, namely Colgate, American Garden, Monini, Fineti, Ved Rasa, and Maiyas partnered with Haiko for the Anniversary.
Haiko offers are advertised through bus shelters, hoardings, print ads, radio jingles, bulk SMS, and personal calls, in order to reach the maximum number of consumers
The number of customers visiting the store during the four days increased by 45% compared to normal days, and sales went up by 200%.
Haiko, a standalone store, was started in 1999 by the Hiranandani group primarily to cater to the residents of its township. It has become a benchmark in modern retailing with its high customer service standards and product mix. The retailer has been felicitated by the Images Group with laurels like ‘Supermarket Specializing in Imported Food Category 2011 – National Level’ and ‘Most Admired Food & Grocery Retailer of the Year 2012 – National Level’. These Awards have given recognition to Haiko on a much wider spectrum.
