Floating restaurants, amongst others like heliports and waterways, are a part of the Union minister for shipping, ports, and surface transport Nitin Gadkari’s action plan for Mumbai in order to propel the tourism and growth of the city, according to a leading daily.
The shipping ministry has established an expert committee to execute the plan on 1,800 acres owned by the Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT), the paper reports.
Citizens can also give their opinion and suggestions to the expert committee which is likely to submit its reports in the next three months, said Gadkari. He further added that international consultants would be designing the projects and the company selected by the expert committee will be awarded Rs 1 crore.
