Bags and accessories brand Holii has opened its 4th airport outlet in the country at the departure gate of the Chandigarh Airport. Along with the travel collection, the store showcases products such as handbags, clutches, wallets and small accessories. Built across 16 acres the airport holds a significant importance in North India and caters to the city’s residents and NRIs.
Speaking on the occasion, Mehak Khurana, Retail and Operations Head, Holii, said: “Airports retail is most coveted for a brand as colourful and Indian as Holii because airports see a lot of foreign and NRI crowd. Factors like 2-hour prior check-ins, delayed flights and last minute shopping make airport retail a game changer.”
According to the company officilas, the product selection for airports differs from a regular store and certain product categories like travel bags, laptop bags, iPad sleeves, crossbodies have to be constantly available at airport stores involving a special collection creation just for airport stores.
Holii’s other airport outlets are at Bangalore International Airport; Hyderabad International Airport; Delhi International Airport; and Delhi Domestic Airport.
Holii was launched in 2009 as a part of a close partnership between Hidesign and Future Group. It works around two seasonal collections each year. At present Holii is available through 17 exclusive boutiques across India, over 50 multi brand outlets like Central, Pantaloons, Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop etc, and online through its website.
