India Exposition Mart Ltd (IEML) has elected Rakesh Kumar as the new chairman by its board of directors. The outgoing chairman, Raj Kumar Malhotra and Directors welcomed Kumar on his new role. Kumar has served in various professional associations in the field of Indian handicraft exports.
He is also the Executive Director of the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) and President of Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA). Apart from setting up of India Exposition Mart Ltd, Kumar is also the key architect of setting up of several important projects in India such as setting up of National Centre for Design & Product Development in New Delhi for design and product development and various craft pockets of handicrafts at Jodhpur, Jaipur, Saharanpur, Narsapur (A.P.), Moradabad, Northeastern Regions.
The India Exposition Mart is spread over to 58 acres and has built up complex of 1.7 million sq.ft. which was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India in 2006. The Exposition Mart has eight exhibition halls and 1800 permanent marts with facilities at par with International standards and hosts many international events.
