Italian-American speciality cuisine restaurant Sbarro has opened its second exclusive outlet in the NCR, at New Delhi’s Connaught Place area.
Speaking at the opening, Akhil Puri, CEO, Jyoti International Food Pvt.Ltd (JIFPL) added, “Opening an outlet in Connaught Place will help us blend the heritage and history of two great cities –New Delhi and New York. As a brand, Sbarro strongly advocates the ‘value for money’ and ‘freedom of choice’ proposition, as it allows its customers to choose their individual slices from a wide variety of 17″ Extra Large New York-style pizzas.”
The menu comprises 17″ extra large New York style pizzas, live saute pastas, salads and desserts, among other. The 2,000 sq.ft, 58-table outlet also features a live kitchen.
The brand plans to expand across north and east India with 30-40 set to open in the next five years. According to Puri, JIFPL will be scouting for locations in shopping centres, Metro stations, airports, as well as institutional venues such as universities and tech parks in Delhi NCR, Punjab, Rajasthan, Kolkata and Gujarat.
JIFPL is the master franchisee of Columbus,Ohio-headquartered Sbarro for north and east India. The company is also a supply chain/cold chain vendor for food service brands, with services encompassing warehousing, logistics and distribution of food products across India. JIFPL’s key food service customers are Subway, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and Chili’s.
