Must Read

India’s third largest packaged tea group, Wagh Bakri, has rolled out its second tea lounge in Delhi at the city’s Lajpat Nagar market, and has disclosed plans to open another outlet in the Capital’s Greater Kailash-1 area in January 2015. The Lajpat Nagar lounge — the fifth in the chain — was inaugurated by Padmabhushan Dr M B Athreya, a  renowned management guru and Geeta Athreya, a well-known international development consultant.

Referring to the chain’s expansion schedule, Parag Desai, executive director, Wagh Bakri Tea Group, said, “Those who visited our tea lounges in Delhi and Mumbai were overwhelmed about the concept and requested to open such tea lounges in Delhi’s popular areas. We started with Pitampura, now Lajpat Nagar and will open one more tea lounge in GK 1 by end of January 2015.”

Piyush Desai, CMD, Wagh Bakri Tea Group said, “In a city full of homogenised coffee chains, the first of its kind tea lounge experience by Wagh Bakri is a one of its kind experience.”

The chain currently has two outlets each in Mumbai and Delhi, and one in Ahmedabad.

The Rs 950-crore Wagh Bakri Tea Group started operations close to 120 years ago, and is the leading tea brand in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and MP, and has become preferred brand of tea lovers in Maharashtra, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and Western UP. The company also exports tea varieties to over 30 countries.
