Barcelos to make India debut with Delhi outlet

Barcelos, the leading South African casual dining restaurant chain, is set to enter the Indian market  with the launch of its first outlet in Delhi, offering its brand of world-class peri-peri flavoured, flame grilled delicacies. After a successful debut in Oman recently, the Indian eatery will mark the chain’s 18th country opening.
The maiden outlet is to come up in the Capital’s poshest high street Khan Market.
Barcelos is popularly known for its flame grilled menu with peri peri sauces and brings out the ‘best-in-class’ spicy fare that would naturally tickle the Indian taste buds. Th chain blends an authentic Portuguese offering with the dark and mysterious flavours of the African continent. The casual dining specialist plans to introduce a well-researched speciality menu in authentic Portuguese flavours catering to a predominantly vegetarian segment which would cover about 40% of incoming footfalls.
Barcelos currently has 120 outlets in 17 countries, spanning the African continent, Canada, UK, Singapore, (Middle East and Asia).

The company sees India as one of the biggest opportunities to establish and expand its brand. Barcelos will have its presence in 10 metro cities of the country with more than 20 outlets in the next five years.
