Sudhir Sitapati, a vice president with Unilever, has been roped into a four-member advisory board member on Flipkart. An alumnus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, Sitapati oversees the tea, coffee and ice-cream categories for Unilever across South Asia and Africa in his capacity as a vice-president at the company.
As part of its ongoing crusade to shore up its top management deck with the intention of fuelling its ecommerce leadership ambitions, Flipkart has been pulling in senior exceutives from across functions in the past few months. Most recently, the company recruited Ravi Garikipati in a newly created position – entrepreneur in residence.Earlier in April, ex-Yahoo, Hathway and txtWeb executives Hari Vasudev, Anand KV and Manish Maheshwari, respectively, were brought in. In March, it hired Punit Soni, a Google product management executive as chief product officer.
Earlier, the company had announced the appointment of former McKinsey executive Saikiran Krishnamurthy as the chief operating officer (COO) of its commerce division.
