The Gujarat government and China Association of Small and Medium Enterprizes Industry have mutually decided to set up a textile industrial park in the state in the near future. A delegation led by Vice Chairman, Shen Gaohua and Deputy Secretary General, Guo Zhixin of CASMEI met Gujarat Chief Minister, Anandiben Patel at Gandhinagar to discuss various aspects related to the setting up of park in Gujarat, according to an official release.
Post Patel’s visit to China, the development came into existence where state government’s Enterprise INDEXTB (Industrial Extension Bureau) signed an MoU worth Rs 1.6 billion with CASMEI in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Patel was influenced by the Chinese model of industrial parks, where the selling points for the goods produced in the industrial park, are created within the park. She showed keen interest to replicate this business model in the upcoming industrial park in Gujarat.
As per the release, Patel assured the delegation for all the cooperation required from the government in acquiring land, permissions, facilities and other support.
Despite repeated attempts, Indiaretailing was unable to reach Gujarat government officials to gather further details on the development.
