At So Spa Mumbai feel re-energised and rejuvenated as the abundance of peace coupled with warm hospitality makes the experience exhilarating and divine.
Spread over 6,000 sq ft, it took four years for architect and interior designer Isabelle Miaja of Isabelle Miaja & Associate (IMA) to create So Spa. Elegance is an attitude and So Spa has plenty of it. The brief to the architects and designers of the spa, was underlined with Sofitel’s philosophy of showcasing luxury and design, in a fashion that was tranquil and relaxing.
Manoj Chauhan, Spa Manager, Sofitel Mumbai BKC says, “With the award-winning So SPA, luxury begins at your doorstep and there is nothing better than a much deserved get-away experience in true French elegance coupled with warm Indian hospitality. It is an exhilarating, uplifting and rejuvenating experience which offers a mix of treatments from India and around the world.”
A spa is the perfect place to enjoy some personal time, with a rejuvenating treatment and translates into isolation from stress. The main objective was to provide a calming atmosphere and combine it with the display of the property’s signature colours. The integration of the two was kept in mind, along with the fusion of both, Indian and French styles of architecture and design. The approach lent itself toward simplicity, or a ‘less is more’ approach, where few elements would stand out and the others would complement them. Predominantly, a display
of gold is everywhere, which is a shared passion by the French and Indians, alike. The angular placements, tilt-glass style and use of gleaming gold remind one of the designer’s passion towards gold and diamonds.
Spa treatments
The signature treatments of the spa include the So Rejuvenating Facial, So Exhilarating Body Treatment and Le Diamantaire Facial, as well as, a wide range of customised treatments, namely, Fleur de Bali Radiance Facial, De-stress Express Body treatment, Soothing Scalp Massage and Refreshing Eye Treatment. The spa promises a unique personal experience with original music and exclusive signature treatments. The products used for some of the services are from Gemology, a famous French brand that has entered the Indian market for the first time. The busy flavours of Indian glamour by means of warm colours, native designs, diamonds, gold and ornate lighting transforms the spa into a place of art and awe. Even the exhaustive So spa treatments draw inspiration from French gourmet restaurant menu combing the three pillars of Sofitel – Gastronomy, Design and Culture.
Spa facilities
The spa hosts six treatment rooms. Of these, one is the exclusive couple’s spa area with a private Jacuzzi and other amenities.
