Spencer’s Retail has announced the launch of two new hypermarkets in Hyderabad which will commence business on the eve of Independence Day. With this, the city now has five hyper stores, among the highest in the country.
Part of the RP-SanjivGoenka Group, Spencer’s now has a total of 120 stores across 35 cities in the country. Spencer’s total trading area now exceeds 11 lakh sqft, according to the press statement.
The two hypermarkets in Hyderabad are in L B Nagar (30,000 sq ft) and Ramanthapur (35,000 sq ft). The stores were formally launched by the renowned musician, M Balamuralikrishna at L B Nagar.
Giving details, S M Ramanathan, Vice President & Business Manager (Telangana & AP) of the company said, “Currently Spencer’s is attracting nearly 4 million footfalls every month. The two new hyper stores with more than 20,000 quality products at an affordable price, will also have a range of organic foods, frozen items, dry fruits, spices and apparel.”
“Hyderabad is very important to Spencer’s; it was the first city where Spencer’s, way back in 2000, opened its first hypermarket at Musheerabad. The company also recently launched outlets in Karimnagar and Warangal districts of Telangana state,” he added.
The new stores offer fresh fish and meat, patisserie, a live bakery, dairy, chilled and frozen products. A wide variety of food take-away options promises to meet every consumer’s requirement. The stores also boast more than 350 variants of nuts, dry fruits and spices, such as California almonds, walnut, raisins, figs, apricots, pistachios, pine nuts and prunes. Another important attraction at the two new Spencer’s stores is a wide range of organic food products (120 variants).
