India’s most prominent online fashion retailer Jabong has in a report revealed that it marked a record high sales growth of over 150 percent in its ethnic and casual wear offers, including kurtas, dresses, sarees and casual shirts, in eastern India ahead of the festive season.
Jabong clocked an overall 70 percent growth in women’s wear and 50 percent in men’s wear categories during the Durgotsav. Jabong, being a part of the global fashion group (GFG), which operates in 28 countries keeps a tab on the customers’ preferences.
Nils Chrestin, interim CEO, Jabong and Group CFO of Global Fashion Group, said: “Based on the analytics data of their shopping preferences in recent years we curated an assortment of the most happening festive trends that we showcased on a dedicated page for eastern India.”
“This customer centric approach helped us register a 30 percent increase in our overall revenues from the east during this period,” he added.
The campaign ran for over two weeks in east India, including Kolkata, Guwahati and Bhubaneswar.
Jabong is one of the five fashion e-commerce companies owned by global fashion group (GFG), the world’s leading fashion group for emerging markets that operates in 28 countries.
