Xiaomi has recently announced ‘Diwali With Mi’ sales event for the Diwali festive season starting from Nov 3 up to Nov 5. Consumers will be able to purchase Mi goodies for Re 1 on Xiaomi’s India website and app.
The company, which made smartphone flash sale a significant model in India after it entered the market July last year, is set to make most of it to cash in on the festive season. According to the company’s website, it is using the flash sale model to sell certain — undisclosed — products for Re 1.
However, as per some reports, the company may not offer mobile phones for Re 1; it may offer power banks, the Mi Band, earphones and several other accessories at this throw away price.
While details of the sale were posted on the company site and Facebook, Xiaomi’s India head Manu Jain spoke about the sale on Twitter. “Re 1 flash sales, special prices, n lots of exciting prizes on http://www.mi.com, during Nov 3, 4 & 5,” Jain tweeted.
Consumers will be able to buy the undisclosed products in two flash sales at 2 pm and 6 pm, on all the three days of the promotion, according to details available on Mi.com’s India site. However, there is one catch; users will be eligible for the flash sale only if the promotion is shared via Facebook or Twitter two hours before the flash sale begins on November 3.
Users will also be able to avail 5% cashback capped at Rs 500 during the general sale on other products such as earphones and Mi Band at discounts, from 10 am on November 3.
Currently, Xiaomi India sells various models produced at the manufacturing facility of Foxconn located at Sri City Special Economic Zone, Tada near Chennai
