As pulses prices touch the ceiling, online grocery firm 24×7 Fresh has said it will sell tur dal at Rs 140 per kg as against the current market price of around Rs 200 per kg.
Similarly, moong dal would be sold at Rs 115 as against prevailing market price of Rs 140 per kg, the e-commerce startup said in a statement.
A customer can only buy 1 kg of each variety of pulses at a time, it added. Pulses would be sold at this rate from today.
The startup, which is operates in Delhi, Bengaluru, Gurgoan and Noida, is also making available other pulses at competitive prices.
Meanwhile, Mother Dairy’s retail outlet Safal and Kendriya Bhandar are selling imported tur dal at Rs 120 as part of the government’s measures to boost domestic supply and control pulses prices.
Pulses prices have risen sharply due to fall in domestic production by two million tonnes in 2014-15 (July- June) on the back of a weak monsoon. Retail prices of tur and urad are ruling up to Rs 190-200 per kg.
