CEO, Future Group, Kishore Biyani is planning to forge a distribution alliance with Trent’s Star Bazaar for selling packaged food and grocery brands under its private label.
As per the agreement, Future Consumer Enterprise will be selling its private brands like Tasty Treat and Clean Mate at all the outlets of Star Bazaar which are owned by Tata’s Trent. Food products like dairy, atta, dips, sauces along with ready-to-eat food and beverage brands like Sunkist will also be sold at Star Bazaar outlets. Despite being competitors in the hypermarket format, they are planning to join hands.
Future Group has big plans of expansion in the FMCG sector and it is planning to compete with some big stalwarts like ITC and Hindustan Unilever Food. Future Consumer Enterprise, an integrated food and FMCG company, is known for their expertise in agri sourcing, manufacturing, brand development and urban and rural distribution with business of around Rs 2,000 crore.
The company is planning to become one of the biggest players in the FMCG section. And as a part of pan India expansion plan, it has already appointed distributors in cities like Benaras.
By 2021, the company projects a sales turnover of Rs 20,000 crore from its FMCG-led consumer brands.
