Amazon has appointed Puneet Gupta as Head, Sales, Marketing & Operations – Food Fashion and Grocery wef January 2016.
Gupta brings with him a rich experience of 13 years. An IIT Delhi alumni, Gupta started his career as at ITC Limited in June 2002. He took a break to do his MBA from ISB, Hyderabad (2004-05) and joined Hindustan Unilever Limited in May 2005 as Area Manager.He was subsequently appointed Brand Manager of Clinic Plus.
In January 2008 Gupta joined Future Group as Deputy General Manager Sales & Merchandising at Future Value Retail. Then in May 2012 Gupta joined Jabong as Business Head. In Jan 2016 he moved to Amazon as Category Leader for Clothing.
Gupta is one of a slew of new appointments at Amazon. Pranav Bhasin of Makemytrip has been appointed Director Product Management at Amazon recently.
The newer crop follows the exit of Vikas Purohit who had joined Amazon in 2012 as Category Leader and GM Apparel and was subsequently promoted to Director. Purohit left the company in Oct 2015 to join Paytm.
