Nestle Maggi has once again failed the laboratory tests conducted by district authorities of Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh. However, manufacturer of Maggi, Nestle, has rejected the claims.
On February 5, the samples of instant noodles were collected from Safedabad in Barabanki district. Ash content in collected samples of Maggi masala was found to be 1.85 per cent at the Lucknow-based state-owned laboratory. The ash content is higher than the permissible limit of one per cent.
Soon, notices will be send to the retailer and the company. And if they disagree with the reports, then they can get the tests conducted again at their own cost.
However, Nestle has rejected that findings and emphasises that quality and safety of their products is utmost important and presses on the point that they adhere to strict food quality and safety procedures at all times.
The retailer and the company have to file an application within a month and if they fail to do so, then a case would be lodged against them in the court of additional district magistrate. A penalty of Rs 5 lakh can also be imposed in this case.
